The development of fronts in architecture that offer solutions to the housing crises structured by neoliberalism is one of the needs observed by the 13th BIA. All construction processes need to list the need to live, stipulating the right to architecture in conjunction with this need, thus enabling dignity in housing.

MEDIATION

Karina Leitão Professor at the School of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo (FAUUSP). She holds a BA in Architecture and Urbanism from the Federal University of Pará – UFPA (1999), a Master’s degree from the Integration Program for Latin America at the University of São Paulo – PROLAM-USP (2004), and a PhD in Urban and Regional Planning from the School of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of São Paulo – FAUUSP (2009). Since 2002, she has been a researcher at the Housing and Human Settlements Laboratory at FAUUSP, which she coordinated from January 2016 to March 2020. She has focused her research on Affordable Housing, Urban and Regional Planning, Municipal Management, Urban Public Policies, and Impacts of Large Projects.
