The development of fronts in architecture that offer solutions to the housing crises structured by neoliberalism is one of the needs observed by the 13th BIA. Karina Leitão Professor at the School of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo (FAUUSP). She holds a BA in Architecture and Urbanism from the Federal University of Pará – UFPA (1999), a Master’s degree from the Integration Program for Latin America at the University of São Paulo – PROLAM-USP (2004), and a PhD in Urban and Regional Planning from the School of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of São Paulo – FAUUSP (2009). Since 2002, she has been a researcher at the Housing and Human Settlements Laboratory at FAUUSP, which she coordinated from January 2016 to March 2020. She has focused her research on Affordable Housing, Urban and Regional Planning, Municipal Management, Urban Public Policies, and Impacts of Large Projects.



Carmen Silva Leader of the Movimento dos Sem Teto do Centro (MSTC), known for claiming the right to housing in urban centers. Awarded by the National Federation of Architects and Urbanists, she was a candidate for São Paulo City Council. Great current voice for social struggles.

Maura Cristina de Melo Silva Graduated in Psychology, member of the Movimento de Mulheres Negras da Bahia, State Coordinator of the Movimento Sem Teto da Bahia, member and founder of the Articulação de Movimentos e Comunidades Centro Antigo de Salvador, member of the Bahia Despejo Zero, resident of an occupation in the Historical Center of Salvador.
